In 2025, Michaël Cailloux created a series of etchings based on playing cards, each work taking the form of an Ace engraved with meticulous precision and hand-embellished. At the center, a fragile yet vibrant insect flourishes, a silent presence that captures attention and curiosity.

These cards become lucky charms to behold: they bring good fortune and poetry, blending chance and reverie. The etching lends depth and finesse to the lines, while the hand-painted highlights give the insects a singular vitality.

In this series, Michaël Cailloux succeeds in merging technique, nature and imagination: each engraving reveals a subtle balance between rigor and fantasy, and transforms the Ace into a delicate, mysterious and living art object.
