Michaël Cailloux reinvents etching by cutting his copper plates with a jeweler’s saw, freeing the composition from any traditional frame. Combining drypoint mastery with experimentation, he creates rich, intricate worlds where botanical arabesques and animal figures interact in a bold, immersive scenography. Through the play of “varia,” each print becomes a unique work, enhanced by delicate inking and exceptional papers.

Made in 2014, Parure is part of Michaël Cailloux's work around combs and still lifesIt was presented at the exhibition Engravings, etc. , Nathalie Bereau Gallery Paris.

This engraving is part of a reflection on the comb as motif and object in the history of art, blending the tradition of still life with contemporary exploration of detail and composition.
