Michaël Cailloux continues his reinvention of 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot of Marseille by unveiling today four previously unseen paintings The Fool, The High Priestess, The Sun and The Empress. Conceived as cards on an enormous scale, these paintings continue to play with the codes of trompe-l'oeil, flirt with the absurd and cultivate this joyful strangeness that characterizes the entire series.
True to his poetic language, the artist transposes the symbols of the tarot into a universe where Human figures give way to natural elements — plants, insects, animals — which, by their presence, evoke states of mind, emotions, suspended moments.
